The company successfully sells its products worldwide having been established for over 40 years.  Our client is a leading global supplier of premium recreation infrastructure equipment to organisations and requires a Business Development Manager to further develop the Western Australian region.

The Role

The sales cycle is often a long and consultative one with many customers being local government authorities, developers, construction companies, architects etc.  The successful applicant will be required to be a seasoned sales professional with a dedicated and organised attitude to selling and developing long term business deals.  Due to current growth, the position will be the second business development manager in WA with strong support and regular contact provided from a local support agent and the other Australian offices on the East coast and head office in Europe. Experience dealing with local councils or larger organisations with longer sales cycles is an advantage.  Other successful BDM’s have come from the building, office supplies, equipment and other related industries.  Ability to close a sale is a must.  A sales professional with a “hunter” type attitude, someone ideally with experience in specifications of products or materials and ideally with a network of contacts in the previously mentioned sectors would be advantageous but not essential. Cognitive and psychometric testing will be undertaken for this position with short-listed applicants.  Flexibility with working arrangements, working from home etc is provided along with an office in Perth.  Small amounts of travel will be required from time to time throughout the state and to the east coast.  The products are already being sold in Western Australia but have much room for greatly increased sales from a dedicated BDM.  Commission will be guaranteed for the first twelve months to help with the initial ramp up.  The successful applicant will be rewarded with a generous base salary plus a car allowance and an attractive commission structure.
